What a High!
15 year old William is an 'advanced learner'. He also lives with a very controlling mother who wants the best for her children but seems to make many wrong decisions. Having been left his sister's entire record collection, (this is the 1970s so think Led Zep etc) William falls in love with rock and roll and starts to write for a small magazine. Soon his talents are noticed by Rolling Stone mag and he is asked to follow the band 'Still Waters' on their tour.
This is a story about many things- rock and roll lifestyles, groupies (sorry, "bandettes", ha ha), coming-of-age, love, friendship and loads more.
Kate Hudson plays 'Penny Lane' one of the bandettes who is in love with the guitarist. She is superb.
