Plot Summary:
|
Paul Hacketts embarks on a hop to SoHo in hopes of scoring with a melodic women he precisely met, but when his money flies unserviceable the window he is stuck in SoHo. The movie details his experiences that shades of night with a wide array of criminals, kooks, psychotics, sadomasochists, punks, and an angry proletariat tiring to kill him. Strangely, the seemingly disconnected events are interwoven in unusual and unexpected ways.

During the 80s there was a slew of yuppie get flicks where film-makers visited horrors on the heads of innocent urban professionals and this is presumably the best of that mini-genre. Dunne is a computer programmer who arranges to fulfil a comely young woman, Arquette, late inseparable night, but en route to her flat, his filthy lucre flies out the taxi window and he's formerly larboard penniless on the wrong side of village. Scorsese was waiting to imagine The Mould Seducing of Christ and he could have taken the natural practice out of this and played it unambiguously for a quick like a bunny comedy until he started on a project he'd scenery his heart on.
