Plot Summary:
|
Based on the novel alongside David Baldacci, Absolute Power is involving the ruthlessness of people in power. The President believes that everything he does is beyond reproach, including an affaire d'amour or two. That leads to murder and each throughout him is involved. There is only one witness, a thief named Luther Whitney. They are sure he'll talk, but when? The Surreptitiously Service is determined to keep him tranquil, but catching a housebreaker isn't without exception weak.

Maybe just maybe
The beginning was not enjoyable but...
In the end, assuming that you believe Clint Eastwood was capable of doing what he did, the film is a fascinating "what if". It is certainly thought provoking and makes you wonder what really does go on in the corridors of power, particularly after the Clinton/Lewinsky affair.
A not over complicated plot which leaves you feeling that someone somewhere *is* able to watch over you. Recommended.

When a master thief's final strike makes him a witness in a high profile murder case he suddenly becomes the target of the police, the Secret Service and the victim's influential husband...
Clint Eastwood as an actor as well as a director appears to get better with age and this film is no exception. The script is both intelligent and filled with plenty of twists and turns, the performances of the collected Hollywood A-List are excellent throughout and the characters are well developed.
If you liked 'Mystic River' you will certainly like this one and vice versa. Get ready for a good night in...
