Troy Donahue was a journalism disciple at Columbia University when he began playing in ownership productions. He made his premiere in _Man Afraid (1957)_ (qv) and in 1959 signed as a contract player with Warner Bros., which promoted him to stardom with _A Summer Place (1959)_ (qv) that year. He was in good time a teenage heartthrob, his blond hair and blue eyes appearing frequently on the covers of motion picture magazines. His most remunerative cloud was _Parrish (1961)_ (qv), in which he play... ed the title proper. A years after that his tear went into a decline; he made one a few goggle-box movies between the mid-'60s and his trifling role in _The Godfather: Section II (1974)_ (qv) (in which his monogram's name, Merle Johnson, was actually his natural high regard).
