When casting for the radio series in behalf of "The Yank Hiker's Direct To The Galaxy" tranny show began, it was requested that the voice of The Book have a "Peter Jonesy sort of put into words". After three or four people (including Michael Palin) had turned it down, the search for the Peter Jonesy describe of voice narrowed in on Peter Jones himself. He said numerous times that he was surely bewildered by "Hitch Hiker's" itself, and even more aside the cult following it gathered.
... Prior to the relay debut of "The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy" (1981), he filmed an "introduction" sequence which was used for a assay-screening of matter 1. This is the exclusive time he appeared on-interview in the Hitch Hiker's series. The video is included as a supplement on the DVD remission.
