Born in Pasadena, California, George Nader became interested in acting while still in school and appeared in disparate productions at the Pasadena Playhouse. This led to several small parts in movies before earning the lead role in the shameful 3D thriller _Clod Monster (1953)_ (qv). The talking picture was rotten but helpful, and Nader in the end had a contract with Prevalent Pictures. Unfortunately, the studio already had on its roster such righteous-looking and athletic actors as 'Rock Hudson... ' (qv), 'Tony Curtis (I)' (qv) and 'Jeff Chandler (I)' (qv), so Nader often found himself being throw in their leftovers, usually playing parts that emphasized his "beefcake" apply. (At 6' 1" and 180 pounds, Nader had the kidney of physique freak magazines drooled down and unlike many of his colleagues, he oftentimes appeared with his coffer hair's breadth untainted.) However, he did make use of a insufficient good years in the mid-1950s, turning in a commendable performance in _Away All Boats (1956)_ (qv) before his career began to decline.
