Jerome "Curly" Howard, the rotund, bald Stooge with the excessive voice was the most universal member of 'The Three Stooges' (qv). His first Broadway experience was as a comedic conductor for the benefit of the Orville Knapp Combo unite in 1928. Curly joined 'The Three Stooges' (qv) in 1932, replacing his brother 'Shemp Howard' (qv). He made more than 100 film appearances with the tandem join up before a massive splash on the habitual of _Half-Wits Holiday (1947)_ (qv) forced him to retire. He r... ecuperated enough to appear in _Hold That Lion! (1947)_ (qv) and hoped to eventually return to the troupe.
